The Help Kenya Project

Teaming Up:

jude The North Callaway Digital Outreach Program has teamed up with Jude Ndambuki and his Help Kenya Project. North Callaway Digital Outreach Program is planning on sending 40 Dell computers to Kenya this summer.

Jude started the Help Kenya Project in 2001 with a mission: to end poverty in Kenya. People are able to donate clothing, books, computers, and medical equipment to his project.

Local Solutions to International Problems:

Through our contacts with Lutheran Childrens and Family Services, we learned the plight of Ming Aung. Forced to flee his native Burma, Ming left behind a young family. Since his exile, his young daughter died and he was forced to grieve alone. Here is social worker Sherryl Laws' description of Ming's life.

We were able to provide him a laptop computer so he can interact with his children half a world away.

JudeWe are now working with the Voluntary Action Center and they have already placed 2 of our computers; The first computer went to a diabled, single mom with 5 children. The second computer went to a family from Morocco with 3 children. Click here to find out more about VAC.

What began as a possible donation developed into a dialogue with the city of Mexico, MO. Now, we are participating in their Community Betterment drive.
